Happy New Year 2023! A new beginning with a new club board and adventure. As the new president, we will work to continue our growth…
Our board is here to serve the new and current members. We will be adding exciting drives to create comradery among members. We will also get our members more involved on leading drives. Plus, we are working hard to have a charity car show that we have missed, a couple of years now, due to Covid.
Central Chapter cars and coffee will be held in different locations to accommodate and meet other members from Corvallis and Albany. And, we will schedule a couple of Tech sessions to learn more about our cars and newer technologies.
Let’s make 2023, a good and an unforgettable year. As Porsche says, “There is No Substitute.“

We are planning a drive on May 21 from Eugene to Reedsport, for lunch at the Harbor Light Restaurant. To be honest, I haven’t finalized the entire route yet. But I wanted to get this notice out now so that you can make plans.
The UPDATED plan at this point is to gather at Lowe’s on W11th in Eugene at 9:00, with a 9:30 departure time. With a short rest stop on the way, that should get us into Reedsport a bit before 11:30 for a slightly early lunch. The Harbor Light Restaurant indicated that it will easier for them to accommodate a group if we don’t arrive right at 12:00. Depending on how many of us there are, there could be a delay in getting seated.
This will be a bit longer drive than many. Due to the length of the drive, you should expect to get back to Eugene no earlier than 3:30, maybe a bit later.
For our Central Coast members, feel free to meet us in Reedsport for lunch and a bit of a meet and greet!
RSVPs are required for lunch, as I need to give the eatery some advance warning. Click this link to RSVP, and note whether you will be driving from Eugene or just meeting in Reedsport for lunch.
See you then!
This will be a day drive to Brookings on the Oregon Coast. Meet at address provided at 9:00 am depart at 9:30 am. Lunch at Catalyst Seafood.
This drive was rescheduled from the 4th of June due to weather.
Join us for a Drive! to the Yamhill County Historical Society’s Heritage Center. The Heritage Center complex features over 40,000 square feet of displays showcasing the area’s agricultural history, including a collection of more than 100 antique tractors, horse-drawn equipment and buggies, autos from the early 1900s, and fire-fighting equipment from the late 1890s.
Order lunch in advance from Harvest Fresh Grocery in McMinnville, www.harvestfresh.com. Be sure to mention PCA and delivery to the Heritage Center will be arranged.
The starting point for this DRIVE! will be at the Safeway at the north end of Junction City. Plan on meeting at the starting point at 9:00 AM with arrival at the Heritage Center around Noon.
Overnight tour of 13 Covered Bridges in Southern Oregon with an overnight stay in Cottage Grove, Oregon. Picnic on the first day, Saturday. Bring a lunch. A tour of Oregon Aviation Historical Society and Museum in Cottage Grove has also been arranged. Overnight arrangement at Cottage Grove Inn must be made by individuals. Start location will be at Black Rock Coffee Bar in Medford.
Join us at 10 AM at the new Winco Foods (formerly Shopko) on Chad Drive in Eugene for a short, but entertaining Drive! to Thompson’s Mills on the beautiful Calapooia river in Shedd, Oregon. Thompson’s Mills is a unique survivor of times past; the last water-powered mill in the state that still runs the milling machines for demonstrations today. Bring a picnic (we’re scouting locations to pick up lunch near the mill), take a tour, and just chill in this great spot. Don’t forget your State Parks pass, if you have one!
Our First Saturday Coffee Stop moves to Florence for August! Gather in the public parking lot at First and Nopal Streets. Old Town Coffee Roasters is a yellow building across Nopal and down a small alley. They can also be found off of Bay Street, in the back. If you prefer tea, Lovejoy’s Restaurant and Tea Room is also just across Nopal. Restrooms in the Tea and Coffee houses and at Bay and Maple Streets. Join us! (especially those of you who live on the Coast!).
