Welcome, 2025!
Another year has passed, and we welcome 2025. Thanks to our members for re-electing our previous board to serve for two more years. This year will be more exciting than last year. We are adding new volunteers to join our board, we will have exciting drives and joint events with other regions. We will open up another monthly Cars & Coffee on the coast.
We are looking forward to new volunteers to lead the drives. Our board members will strive hard to make 2025 better than our previous years. So hold tight and let the fun begin.
Special mention—we will miss the smile of my lovely wife Jackie on our drives, car events and Cars & Coffee that she supported.
Thank you, and Enjoy the Ride!

Join us for a tour of twisty backroads along the Willamette and Santiam Rivers, arriving at Oregon Garden just before noon. The route was put together by two former members and was enjoyed by all who participated the last time it was a featured PCA Drive! There are several lunch choices… picnic in the Garden, purchase a lunch at the Little Leaf Cafe in the Garden’s visitor center, eat at the Oregon Garden Resort, or choose from several good restaurants in Silverton. Admission to the Garden is $12, with discounts for AAA and Seniors; an $8 rate if we can get early RSVPs for a minimum of 15 people. So RSVP to centralchapter@cascade-pca.org soon.
Assemble at the old Shopko / new Winco on Coburg Rd near the Human Bean at 9:00 AM. We’ll roll promptly at 9:30 AM.
NOTE NEW DATE! September 25… Join us for a Drive! to the unique Steamboat Inn on the bank of the hypnotic Umpqua River. Our route first takes us to jewel-like Dorena Lake, where we’ll make a short pit stop. Then we’ll hone our technical skills on a low speed, tight and twisty, autocross-like route through the Umpqua National Forest, arriving at the Steamboat Inn on Highway 138 for lunch. RSVP to centralchapter@cascade-pca.org.
NOTE: Assemble at E 40th Ave and Donald St in Eugene in front of Highlands Pub at 9:00 AM for a 9:30 AM departure.
Our spring Tech Session will be at Aaron’s Autowerks and will feature David Haydukiwecz who will discuss coatings (paint) and related subjects. David has been in the coatings business for many, many years and this seems to be a good opportunity to get all your questions answered on a topic we haven’t examined before.
Join us for our inaugural Drive! of the season to lovely Dallas (Oregon, not Texas!). This is a repeat running of our most popular drive of 2021. We meet at Lowe’s on West 11th in Eugene at 9 AM. After signing insurance waivers and a brief drivers’ briefing, we’ll roll at about 9:30, taking interesting two-lanes to Philomath, then Kings Valley Highway into Dallas. Lunch will be at the Washington Street Bar and Grill. RSVPs are essential so our host restaurant can plan for our group. RSVP to centralchapter@cascade-pca.org
Come and learn about the latest approaches to protecting the paint on your favorite investment… your Porsche!
Xpel, a leading supplier of Paint Protection Film (PPF) and ceramic coatings, has partnered with Porsche to provide solutions for its customers. Body Guard Paint Protection is a factory certified installer of Xpel materials. You’ll learn about preparation, available Xpel templates, custom installations and more. Bring your questions! RSVPs are essential so that we can arrange coffee and morning snacks for attendees.
We are planning a drive on May 21 from Eugene to Reedsport, for lunch at the Harbor Light Restaurant. To be honest, I haven’t finalized the entire route yet. But I wanted to get this notice out now so that you can make plans.
The UPDATED plan at this point is to gather at Lowe’s on W11th in Eugene at 9:00, with a 9:30 departure time. With a short rest stop on the way, that should get us into Reedsport a bit before 11:30 for a slightly early lunch. The Harbor Light Restaurant indicated that it will easier for them to accommodate a group if we don’t arrive right at 12:00. Depending on how many of us there are, there could be a delay in getting seated.
This will be a bit longer drive than many. Due to the length of the drive, you should expect to get back to Eugene no earlier than 3:30, maybe a bit later.
For our Central Coast members, feel free to meet us in Reedsport for lunch and a bit of a meet and greet!
RSVPs are required for lunch, as I need to give the eatery some advance warning. Click this link to RSVP, and note whether you will be driving from Eugene or just meeting in Reedsport for lunch.
See you then!
